Highlights from the Page/Lake Powell RV Trip March 12th to the 17th

Seven couples went on the trip and a good time was had by all. As one group member said, “we juggled just the right amount of planned activity and personal time.”

The entire group took the Ekis Upper Antelope Tour, and a few took Ken’s Lower Antelope Tour. Both were awesome. Our tour guide was Navajo and she told us of the history of the canyon on how the rain and wind-driven sediment carved the sandstone walls, and how the Navajos believe it to be a spiritual place. We also toured the Glen Canyon Dam, went to the dam Overlook and Horseshoe Bend. Some took a raft trip on the Colorado minus the rapids, a Canyon Adventures Boat Tour on Lake Powell, or drove up to Big Water Utah. The group ate lunch at Canyon Crepes Café and dinner at Big Texas BBQ. A good time was had by all.

The campground we stayed at was Page Lake Powell Campground. It is centrally located and easy to get to tours. Caution: the roads are narrow and tight for big rigs backing up, but the sites are big enough for your rig and tow vehicle. Water pressure is good, but some of the sewers are too low and can pop off! Restrooms and showers had mixed reviews from clean to dirty. They are dog friendly but do not have a fenced dog park. They allow all dog breeds and there were some aggressive breeds whose owners had a hard time controlling when around other dogs.
